Seminar: Upgrading Food Manufacturing Standard Toward Positioning Malaysia AS Global Food Hub
World halal food market is estimated at RM570 billion (2004). Total world muslim population is now at 1.6 billion, and is increasing in a fast pace. Our food import bill as at year 2004 is USD 4.38 billion, while our export only at USD 2.64 billion at the same period (fig extract from MIDA). In line of the government efforts, to promote Malaysia as world Halal Food hub and to reduce food import bill. The SMI association of south Johor, is organizing the above seminar as its social obligation to the food industries sector in particularly the Small and Medium Industries (SMI) of Johor state.
The Aims: 1) To update food manufacturing standards to the food industry clusters. 2) To instill awareness of government aids, grants. 3) To create the platform for the sponsoring bank to introduce their financial products to SMI cluster.
The targeted dates: 14th of December 2005.
Venue: Eden Garden Hotel in JB
